Re: Lee, Are you still using optionxpress?/Gian

Hi Gian,

Great comment !!!

I bought the beast for when I did have to travel or visit friends, but "hated the keyboard". Works great for the trading (save the wrinkles I mentioned) and yes is "usually always up when needed".!!!

Has a 17 in. screen as well and is about as large as you can still get.

Anyway, an update:
Downloaded update of Vipre Antivirus/Spyware software (it is a combined package, does both) and running it now.

If you run into anything on "Vipre" let me know. Good, bad or indifferent !!

So far, only found one "low risk" tracking cookie and when finished I'm sure I can figure out where it came from.

I know the Forum uses cookies to store your "preferences" including your "user name/handle".

There are some "valid uses of cookies, as originally designed/intended" but this "ad tracking crap" really ticks me off.

I use cookies in the "shopping cart" to temporarily store information such as "items ordered" while a customer continues shopping. Think about it, you can have many users connected and placing orders at the same time, how do you keep track of it all. The cookie is a very nice solution to the "indeterminate number of users" who may be connected at the same time. But, we remove them at the end of the transaction.

The Forum, on the other hand could just as well use a "database entry" for profile data and look it up. Probably faster. But then again, maybe they now use the cookie to track the ad's you look at as well ???

Anyway, Life goes on ........
Thanks Lee
