Europe to provide extra €200 bln to fight crisis (by Sarah Turner)
SYDNEY (MarketWatch) -- European Council President Herman van Rompuy said Friday after the European summit that financial resources will be increased to address the crisis. Euro-area and other states will aim to make additional resources of up to 200 billion euros ($266.7 billion) available to the International Monetary Fund to fight the crisis. Additionally, the European Financial Stability Facility will be rapidly deployed, he said.
