Re: gas price dip

In Michigan the roads are so bad the potholes are embarrassed to be a part of the mess.
The state wants to increase the gas tax to fix the roads. Years ago the gas tax was a separate fund only for road building and maintenance.
They decided it should be in the general fund so they could squander it on other things. So the roads went to crap and now they want more.
They say we use the road so we should pay to fix it. That's ok with me. But I think we should go to a mileage tax like the trucks have.
How much tax does an electric car pay to fix the road?

I say pay by the miles you drive not the gallons you buy.
I pay gas tax to mow my lawn and plow my snow.

Something is just not right.
The only time I drive my tractor on the road is when my wife hides my car keys 'cause I'm to drunk to drive.
