If crime had to do with population density, all heavily populated areas would have the same high crime rate. I comes down to who can protect themselves and who can't. Down here in the South people are polite to each other. One reason is because we were raised that way. Another is, you go jacking around with someone down here and you're likely to have a gun shoved in your face. Everybody has one or twenty. Why so many, you may ask. Over the years, because we go barefoot so much, we have developed an uncanny knack of being able to trigger a gun with each of our 20 digits. 10 toes...10 fingers...20 guns. It's a sight to behold. I'm working on training my hanging dangler to trigger one so I can play 21. The other 20 will just have to wait their turn.
