Re: So, what really happened yesterday?

The ACA is really more akin to ... comparing it to P&C ... You have a flawless driving record ... no accidents that were your fault, no moving violations for the past forty years ... no tickets, no claims ... However, your next door neighbor, in the past ten years had seventy "at-fault" accidents, eighty-two moving violation=s and twenty-three DUIs ...

He MUST be given insurance and ... the best part ... YOU PAY THE SAME RATE.

I've often wondered why those that were uninsurable, due to pre-existing conditions, fatties, etc., were simply not allowed to "buy in" to Medicaid (Title Act 19). Although designed for the indigent ... expand it and let others buy into it. Easy enough to figure the rate(s) ... take the capitation for current members and charge it. Subsidize pursuant to income.

The carrying of little kiddies until they are twenty-six simply goes beyond the pale ... From eighteen, unless a full time student ... then until twenty-three to twenty-six ... Isn't it time that they moved out of mommy's basement and got a job? I'm always on the lookout for laborers, that are US citizens.

Overall, the welfare ('caid IS welfare) buy-in would prove FAR less costly to the taxpayers ... than subsidizing the plans with thirteen thousand dollar individual deductibles, followed by 60/40 coinsurance with a thirteen large MOOP.

Then, go back to underwriting as it was ... and commensurate rates and coverage for the rest of us ... Remember, even being ten to fifteen pounds, overweight, costs the system FAR more than smokers. If fatties don't want to lose weight .. put 'em on "Caid.
