$COST Analysis Prior To Earnings *PIC*

Costco Wholesale Corporation (NASDAQ:COST) is set to report earnings after the market closes on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017. Analysts expect $1.35 earnings per share on $29.94 billion in revenue. Costco is expected to beat earnings, but pro traders are concerned that the stock has already factored that in by rallying substantially in the last few months. To fully understand this, investors should compare the S&P 500 rally to the Costco Wholesale rally. The S&P 500 is up 15% since November 2016 while Costco is up 25% since November. This tells investors that the stock is already expected to beat earnings by a wide margin. This puts investors who are long the stock in a scary place. It is recommended that investors pair their positions ahead of earnings to be careful. No one went broke taking a profit.
