When "health insurance" became "health care" ... this was bound to happen. The current system, is nowhere near "insurance". Insurance, by classical definition is a pooling of risk, wherein underwriting is involved.
For all of my life, health insurance wise, I always maintained a "preferred" rate, which is typically 20% lower than "standard".
Today, whether you are five foot tall and weigh four hundred pounds .. currently incurring millions in medical care ... you receive the same rate as the world's healthiest human being.
That is somewhat akin to you ... having no at-fault accidents for the past thirty years ... not one single moving violation ... etc. Yet, your next door neighbor has had eight DUIs, thirty-five at-fault accidents, and forty-two moving violations ... Not only would they receive the same rate .. that P and C company would HAVE to accept them.
Lower class people just expect everything for free. Free food, clothing, shelter, and medical care. However, with medical care .. they expect coverage and treatment the same as the world's richest.
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme ... I DESERVE IT!
