Fundamental vs. Technical Analysis

I for one am not a fan of fundamental analysis. Having been a futures industry professional for a bit more than 40 years I’ve never and I repeat never understood how so many traders rely on fundamental analysis. To put it bluntly, let’s say you read the opinions of five fundamental analysts. Between the five there are at least three differing opinions. Who’s right? Who’s wrong. Whose Grandpa is carrying a huge position and the analysts work is tilted in that direction? How do you place a trade on this information? Brokerage firms and other services just spew fundamental information all over the place.
This is why a working knowledge of technical analysis is most important. The technicals are nothing more than the paint of the fundamentals! The real fundamentals….
