Yep...Been saying that to people for 30 years. Mostly what I get back is, huh? What do you mean the govt confiscated gold before?

That's why I also say...beans and bullets. If the SHTF to the point only those with gold can be used to trade with...it'll be bad enough that people will trade for food and bullets. Maybe they'd be more apt to trade for beans and bullets cause you can't eat gold and you can't defend yourself with it either. Maybe you could cast some bullets or round balls for your sling shot out of gold but past that... :-))
