yea...his service affords him some deference but service in the forces does not transcend bad politics.

He is, IMHO, a RINO maximus and should have been kicked out of all politics back with the Keating Five situation.

So power hungry is he that he refuses to give up his seat in the certain face of death. He thinks himself to important to step aside.
