I'm not sure of all the details anymore...the funnier pieces of the story stick in my head. But...it seems like I remember the friends primary was something not nearly as punchy as the 300. My friend used my 7mm to hunt with. His friend assured him that the 7mm was good enough and he did take several elk with it but no moose. I think they decided the moose looked like way too much work to deal with.

And...knowing my friend as I did...I can't imagine him walking all over creation carrying my 7mm and the rifled slug gun his friend requested that he bring...also for bear. I can't help think, maybe the shotgun and the 300 were at the camp site for bear protection...can't remember for sure.

Is there rhyme or reason to your gun collection or does it have to meet with one sole characteristic of being a gun to qualify for the collection?

That's kinda my criteria...oh...gun...throw that one in the safe, too.
