Internet Explorer browser deteriorates over time. Try Firefox, etc. if you have not done so.

I never allow updates after the initial install. Has worked well for me over time. Many times, if you uninstall recent updates (Java, etc,), your computer performs better.. It's the "improvements" that cause the problems.
