Sorry Mike...got to tell this story... *PIC*

The Woman had just returned from the store. While she was gone there had been huge lightening and thunder storms. Right when she got in the door something hit us...the wind was BALOWING!!! The rain was not even sideways but going around...all I could think of was "rain wrapped". That's what makes tornadoes out here so dangerous...you can't see them because they usually come inside of big rain events and all you see is rain that's wrapped around the tornado.

I can sit through a pretty good wind but I was on my feet with this one. It got so bad I pushed The Woman in the hall closet with the dog and squeezed myself in. I can't say as it sounded like the train everyone describes but it was all we could hear...high, high wind. It was buffeting the house. It was so loud we never heard the trees snap or fall.

When it stopped and the storm moved on enough to go outside, two big trees out of a line of four trees that used to make up a fence row were down. One a good 2 foot in diameter the other a foot and a half. Snapped off about two foot up. On the other side of the house a 3.5 foot oak torn out of the ground. On down the road it went. My immediate neighbor had some split trees and lost some of the roof off his barn. One of my neighbors from 1/2 mile down the road came up to see how we were doing. He was hit too just not nearly as bad.

We took the brunt of it from the looks of things. It was intense! By far the worst weather event I have ever experienced.

Two downed Wild Cherry trees. Hey...at least I got some wood to turn! 😃
