Andy: I've never been described as a "smart Jew..." before. Perhaps I should add that to my biography.
Let's see: in the Army I was a smart non-com; at Berkeley I was a smart T.A.; in my career as a criminologist, I was just "smart"; as a trader, I was "experienced, who worked for a smart Jew who was known as an "honest trader". Here at TFC, I'd just like to be known as an ethical vendor.

I didn't know you put yourself together with Cowboy; that puts a whole new light on relationships.

to Gian1: If you want to become an "advisor" and not merely an analyst or a paper trader, I'd suggest you do a little Internet research. Go to the N.F.A. and C.F.T.C. web sites to review the applicable Federal institional codes (laws, that is). It might be useful if you inform yourself before anyone else does. I mean that only in the most positive way---it is a little like learning the laws concerning driving before taking the wheel.
One thing I can tell you, even if you offer your services for free, you need to be meticulously honest and document what you say about being a profitable trader as well as inducements to advising others re: trading futures and options....in other words, if you quote others who you have helped, be on solid ground.

Many years ago when Ken Roberts started his national advertising, even though his methods had its flaws, some traders wanted to go on to more sophisticated trading. I was surprised that he recommended me and my "3 gems"....because I did'nt recommend him. We were both pretty direct about it. I do not profess to be in his class. He did things in a very big way...and I am just the opposite. I did things in a very small way. But that's in the past and not relevant to the present discussion.

I predict that you will attract interest if you have had successful trading experience and a method or strategy that can be learned by others AND if you advertise seriously and attractively (I mean, with the ability to attract readers: there are so many out there today, you need to be different. (There are some that get into trouble with what they say, also: you can learn something by reading the CFTC pronouncements.) All this is not an easy thing to do...posting here at tfc can be useful.

Good luck.
