Coral,
Brings back some memories for sure.. I remember one crashing into our fantail and sliding in flames upside down accross the deck.. I went in with the firefighter to see if we could reocover any parts of the polit. We could not, and we sracped it all over the side. I then was dispatched to the fantail, and found some casualities, one crew member has lost both legs.. when I called sick bay for help one of the medics that responded and I talked a few week ago,. I mentioned it was sad about the one that bled out from missing his legs, he told me the man lived.. I could not figure out how, and he told me that he had piched his viens together and held them wih gause pads while the Doctors worked on him and saved his life. I had been dispatched to number one elevator for another fire and did not even know the man had surivived. The medic remember me because of my job I was needed 24/7, and it was impossible to stay wake as long as I did so he and other medics gave me what they call Xmas trees.. it was a drug that would make my heart pump fast enough to stay wake,.
Coral those Skyhawks were tough I remember one coming back with an arrow stuck in the side from making low passes..
Here is a picture of the "Fudd" being launched.. I went on a few missions aboard it..
Thansk for the pic Coral..
Salute
