HUI Gold Stk Index/34ema/50ema Cross Overs *PIC*

Here is the HUI Gold stk Index. Much easier to use the 34/50 cross overs than with Gold itself as Gold is one commodity and extremely volatile while the HUI is a basket of Gold Stocks and that smooths out the volatility considerably. Consequently this mov av signals is much easier to use as the chart shows.(see arrows for trends) The 34ema crossed above the 50ema in Sept/07 at about 370 and stayed above despite the volatile nature of Gold stocks keeping you long all the way up and not spooking you out of long positions. It didn't cross down until April/08 and then was bearish all the way down to Dex/08 when it turned positive again. It has remained positive since Dec/08. No whiplashing crossovers have occur ed during this entire time frame which is something important given the nature of Gold Stocks.
