Hi Mouse,
Great post.
I am relatively new to commodities (started trading this Spring), though for
the last few years I have traded stock options, so expiration is no stranger to me.My first commodity trades were calculated, based on thinking, and some research. Luck had it that I made some money so I became careless and
entered trades without enough consideration. Needless to say, I am now
paying for my rushed judgement dearly. My lessons so far:
1. Think before you act. When you are ready to act, think again. The market will wait for you. And, besides, the market creates opportunities every day so
take your time to think.2. Keep your emotions in check, especially do not yield to fear. I missed many chances of a profit because I got out (in fear) when the price had
a large fluctuation. Often, I got out with a small loss.3. Know your commodity. Each commodity has a different cycle, nature, character, etc. Trade what you know...
