And a few more pics...of the underground 'Metro' as they call it...this was the most fascinating thing I have witnessed in Russia, this underground subway carries something like 2.3 MILLION passengers per DAY!! It was built in the 30's by Lenin...and truly a wonder of the modern world, as it has something like 40 or 50 stations, all underground at a depth that must be like 2-300 feet! And full of beautifull sculptured columns and ceilings...filled with chandeliers... I could not believe the long escalator ride down to the system...they even have an entire full-size shopping mall down there to go with it! Truly incredible....
