Nat gas falls further after EIA supply report (by Claudia Assis)

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures added to losses Thursday after a government report on supplies came in largely within expectations. Natural gas for February delivery (NGG11) lost 14 cents to trade at $4.35 per million British thermal units; it had lost 10 cents shortly before the report. The contract initially pared its decline. The Energy Information Administration said supplies of the product in storages fell 174 billion cubic feet for the week ended Jan. 21. Analysts polled by Platts had expected a decline between 168 and 172 billion cubic feet.
