Re: Anybody know what kind of bird this is? ntr

Well years ago my wife bought me a bird feeder and I've grown fond of the little suckers. They don't ask for much, never bitch or bark or meow at me and no vet bills. Mind you I just bought a fresh 50 lb bag of medium sunflower seeds that cost me $71 but it does last a long time. An old timer told me to forget buying the cheap bird seed as the birds just toss out most of it and then it attracts rats when on the ground. The sunflower seeds are 100% eaten with no waste. The small percentage of seeds that land on the ground are eaten by ground feeding birds. For what people spend on their pets along with the vet bills I'm getting off easy. Some interesting birds come along as well. The White Breasted Nuthatch looks correct but they are a sparrow sized bird at best so am not sure about the size of the one in your picture. That was the only factor I couldn't tell for sure. I've taken some interesting pics myself of them.
