I have found out that some banks offer free checking, free checks, online banking, etc for those that are 55 or above.
I had to ask, they didnt volunteer the info.
I have a credit union acct & a local small bank. Each have their perks so I keep both accts & use both for different things. One writes free cashiers cks when needed & one doesnt, one will photocopy free one doesnt, etc. Works for me. I dont pay fees for any everyday normal use.
