Government shutdowns and the USD *PIC*

Here's some historical info on the last time the U.S. Government partially closed shop. Thought I should repost this from another forum after seeing that there has been some questions and discussion on that history here at TFC:

Two Government shutdowns occurred under Clinton beginning on Nov. 14, 1995. The first one was over 6 days later on Nov. 20, while the second one continued until April 1996.

The dollar put in a low in 1995 that would not be revisited for almost a decade. It was the beginning of a multi-year rally that started to accelerate in late 1996 (after the April '96 government shutdown ended) and did not peak until 2001/02.
