WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Foreigners slowed their purchases of U.S. assets in February, the Treasury Department said Friday. Foreign investors bought a net $26.9 billion of long-term U.S. assets in February down from $51.1 billion in the prior month. International demand for Treasurys decelerated to an increase of $30.6 billion in February from a gain of $46.5 billion in the prior month. According to the data, Mainland China decreased its Treasury holdings for the fourth consecutive month in February, while Japan and the United Kingdom increased their holdings.
