Re: Trades/Wayne

Hey Wayne. Yes the Conservatives are like Republicans I guess. They had won the last two elections but with 4 parties running never had a 'Majority Government' until this time. So they had to compromise more before. Now they can accomplish more without the fear of the other parties ganging up on them and defeating them in Parliament causing another election. No more elections for 4 to 5 years now. So yes the Conservatives are for more freedoms and less taxes and less interference. The long gun registry that the Liberals brought in years ago will be abandoned. And far stronger anti crime laws will be legislated. And juveniles will face adult court for major crimes. That is the mindset of Conservatives. The Liberal Party for the 1st time in history in Canada lost even 2nd place and is no longer the official opposition. Oddly enough an even more left wing party won the official opposition position for the 1st time. But other than criticizing in Parliament they can't do much with the majority Conservative government in power now. Should be less chaos now with a majority government here. With 4 parties running candidates it does give lots of choices to vote for which most like to see but can result in minority governments that can be defeated at times. Nice to see a majority Conservative government now. The Liberal leader also lost in his own riding which was a major blow and disgrace which had never happened before. And the Separatist party in Quebec which was the main party members elected for 18 years was blown away to next to no elected seats including its leader losing which was also a good thing for the country. So all in all it was a very good election result.
