Grains and Meats / Market Pick

Today's Market View Corn Futures Expected to Open Mixed as of 7:15 a.m.

Corn: The new-crop December corn contract closed within 3/4 cent of the contract high Friday, establishing an uptrend, setting up a test of $7 this week.

Soybeans: The bean market remains in its sideways trend, though continued commercial support if realized could lead to a bullish breakout this week.

Wheat: Minneapolis wheat continues to support Kansas City and Chicago as underlying fundamentals grow more bullish indicated by the strengthening inverse in the July-to-September futures spread.

Live Cattle: The June live cattle contract posted an eighth straight week of losses Friday as the long-term and short-term downtrends continue to strengthen.

Cotton: Follow-through buying from both sides of the market led to sharp gains in cotton last week as the short-term trend tries to turn back up.
