For the week after next: generally warmer than average SE of a line from northern Vermont to SE New Mexico; below normal for the Pacific NW, Idaho and the Northern Rocky mountain states as the general pattern of warm SE-cool NW shows no sign of breaking down. Temperatures will range from only a few degree above average over the Phildelphia-Boston corridor to well above average over the Carolinas, Tennessee, KY and the Gulf coast states.
This week will bring some heavy precipitation to the Dakota's, Minnesota and Wisconsin, with frequent disorganized thundershowers over much of the lower Mississippi valley, Ohio valley and NE. After a cool start, typical summertime heat will creep N back into the southern plains by mid week, with above normal temperatures becoming established generally south of 45 degrees N, from E of the Rockies to the Altantic seaboard.
No hope this week for precipitation over AZ.
