Yeah, the VBulletin platform is pretty nice and organized. However, it's not the be-all, end-all for a decent message board. I've found all the options for organization can actually lead to too much organization, resulting in fragmentation of the discussion. Also, while some moderation is helpful, sometimes the moderators can act like little dictators with agendas of their own. I kind of like the free-flowing diccussions on boards like this one.
