We have the identical situation here trying to get down to the Halifax waterfront, find (scarce) parking, and then the same insanity of trying to escape when the all-too-brief show is done, lol...we ended up skipping on them this year and relaxed at home instead as well. Even funnier to me was your comment about Disney...said the same thing about the ones we witnessed on the 'Right' Coast (Disneyworld in Florida) from about 3 years ago, haha.
