WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - Factory orders rose 0.8% in May to $445.3 billion after an upwardly revised decline of 0.9% in April, the Commerce Department said Tuesday. Factory orders were forecast to rise 0.9%, according to a MarketWatch poll of economists. April orders were previously reported to have fallen 1.2%. Excluding transport, new orders rose 0.2% in May. Shipments climbed 0.4%.
