WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The Federal Reserve is out of its most powerful bullets and cannot deliver any miracles, said Michael Feroli, chief U.S. economist at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. The remaining bullets "are rather innocuous," Feroli said in an email to clients. "For many of the remaining policy options...the transmission mechanism is through lower risk-free rates," he said. "Given where risk-free rates are right now, it's questionable how much further stimulus policy can deliver in this regard," Feroli said. "The Fed is not in an enviable position," he said.
