Natural gas futures revert to gains after data (by Claudia Assis)
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures turned positive Thursday after a weekly government supply report showed a smaller-than-expected increase in inventories. Natural gas for September delivery (ng11u) added 8 cents, or 1.9%, to $4.08 per million British thermal units. The contract had traded in the red during European trading hours. The Energy Information Administration said inventories rose 25 billion cubic feet in the week to Aug. 5. Analysts surveyed by Platts had expected an increase between 34 and 28 billion cubic feet.
