Natural-gas futures add to loss after supply data by Claudia Assis
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures on Thursday retreated further after a weekly government inventory report showed a larger-than-expected increase in supplies. Natural gas for September delivery (ng11u) declined 7 cents, or 2%, to $3.85 per million British thermal units. The Energy Information Administration said Thursday supplies of natural gas rose 50 billion cubic feet in the week ended Aug. 12. Analysts surveyed by Platts had expected an increase between 45 billion cubic feet and 49 bcf for the week.
