Here are the results of a day-trading system I've back-tested-:
ES_2007: short:72.25 long:-112
ES_2008: short:247.5 long:-215.75
ES_2009: short:52.75 long:-143.25
ES_2010: short:50.5 long:-114.5
(Harold and Coral, this is the same system I was referring to yesterday)
The shorts look good, the longs are awful. I'd like to think that I have a modestly good system on the short side.
My heart sank when a buddy of mine pointed out that 'any fool could have made a profit going short from '07 to 2010.
What is your opinion on this? Is my buddy correct? Or do the profits indicate that I was doing 'something' right?
