Hi,
What ever happened to Pan American World Airways ???
I suspect the answer lies at the end of the Wikipedia article, but I'm only half way through it.
It's an interesting read !!!
Sunday night on ABC at 10pm there is the first of a new series airing. The coverage on ABC's Nightline tonight was interesting for sure. Apparently the show runs TRUE to the period and facts !!!
So if you would like to re-visit your "younger years" you may want to watch it !!!
I remember a Fraternity brother of mine was dating a Pan Am Stewardess -- She flew all over the world and in "First Class style" !!! Back then, [late 60's, 70's, even the 80's] I thought, flying was GREAT !! I often said the greatest thing about a 5 or so hour flight to LA was that the "phone couldn't ring, nobody could bug you with questions", you could just "relax" !!! You could even "hop off" in Salt Lake City and ski for the weekend and still be at work in LA in (minus 2 minutes with the time change), Now that was a decent commute !!!!
Not so today !!! I don't care if I never see the inside of a commercial airplane again. All I would need was someone sitting next to me yacking incessantly on a cellphone. Fortunately it appears that cell phone use is still not permitted. The day will come when they can sell you a $100 usage pemit !!!
Anyway, just musing. Main point is - check out the show, sounds interesting !! And reported to be TRUE to the PERIOD.
Lee
