WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. trade deficit remained virtually unchanged in August at $45.6 billion, the Commerce Department said Thursday. The trade deficit was close to the consensus forecast of Wall Street economists. The government revised the deficit in July up to $45.6 billion from the initial estimate of $44.8 billion. The U.S. trade deficit with China widened to a record $29.0 billion in August compared with $28.2 billion in the same month last year.
