Germany, France see Europe debt progress: report (by MarketWatch)

FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- German and French finance ministers on Friday said they made progress toward a comprehensive package to address the euro zone's debt crisis, including measures to submit at a meeting of European leaders on Oct. 23, Dow Jones Newswires reported. The package includes maximizing the firepower of the euro-zone bailout fund and finding a solution to Greece's debt problems, the report said. Progress was also made on a shared plan to recapitalize banks, French Finance Minister Francois Baroin told reporters after a meeting with German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble and French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris.
