This was a very informative post btw. Untill the options express incident, and now MF Global, I never even thought about the possibility of communication going down on my brokers end.
I normally trade electronically, and have had my internet go down. In that case I just called the order to liquidate the position, in by phone. This is why I don't believe in these new fangled contraptions that bundle your phone through an internet connection. Separate connections are your freind.
