WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The Institute for Supply Management on Thursday said its manufacturing index in November rose to 52.7% from 50.8% in October, marking the 28th month of expansion. Readings over 50% indicate expansion. Economists polled by MarketWatch had anticipated a 52.0% reading. The gains were led by new orders, which rose 4.3 points to 56.7%. The employment component dropped by 1.7 points to 51.8%.
