Milder than normal in a narrow strip from N Dakota thru the Great Lakes states and into New England. Cooler than normal across the souther tier of states from southern California to South Carolina. Near normal elsewhere.
This week will see a rather inactive weather pattern to start. A cold Pacifc low will dig down thru southern Califonia Monday and Tuesday and a frontal system will develop in response across the southern and central plains. This front will intensify into a low headed for the western Great lakes Thursday and the cold portion of the front will sag toward the Mississippi valley by Friday. Well north of the frontal boundary, cold high pressure from Canada will slump south bringing quite cold conditions to the northern and Central plains by Friday evening. In general a fairly mild pattern for most of the week for most of the SE, near normal but wet for the Ohio Valley and NE, cold in the West and cooling thru the week along the northern Tier from Lake Superior to the Rockies. Paradoxically, it is shaping up to be fairly wet for Texas. In a la nina year, normally TX will be quite dry. This year, a pattern of repeating high pressure being established over the east sets Tx up from moist Gulf flow and fairly frequent rainfalls. .
