Re: Feb Gold/Testing Resistance #2/Lee/Trades

Hi Trades,
Thanks, and you answered/I learned more than I bargained for !!!

I wasn't thinking about the ETF trading when I posted that question. I thought your "regular hours" comment was directed toward the Gold futures.

I was trying to figure out what you/and or Qcharts called "regular trading hours".

Since the market isn't trading now, I find the close of today's daily bar to be 1620.1 and when I look back that had to occur at 13.30 et. or 1.30 et or 10.30 pacific. This is what I think they also call the "settlement price/time" for the day, and may well be what you show on your Q charts for today's closing price ?? [Take a look]

On my charts, my 1/5 daily bar is still changing and won't roll to a daily 1/6 bar until midnight et.

This for me, has always been a stumbling block when you say something like "close above" for the day, I forget that your charts do not include trades until midnight eastern.

I just double checked. My 1/5 daily bar now shows a close (which is really last trade at the moment) of 1623.3 which agrees with my streaming data.

I think I will call Ox, I think the settlement price is some kind of calculation/average of so many trades in the last minute of trading (if that is properly called "regular trading") but has always been a pain in the butt, so might as well sort it out once and for all !!!!

Thanks, Lee
