Gold & Silver continue to outperform the precious metal stocks as they have for years now. With the availability of precious metal ETFs the precious metals stocks are just stocks like most other stocks and most don't pay a dividend and have high production costs. Hard to believe the stocks have underperformed the precious metals despite the dramatic rise in the metals themselves. But the chart shows the facts. Here is a chart of the HUI Gold STock Index in black which is the major Gold stock Index. I have overlaid the ETF:CEF which is 55% Gold and 45% Silver bullion that is actually held and stored not just a paper ETN like many other etfs. Notice the outperformance of the CEF relative to the HUI. This has got to be the easiest way to hold Gold and Silver collectively and presently the CEF is selling for 22.24 +.58. And as previously posted the support was at 20 and the major breakout point to watch for was at 21.40.
