'Technical work,' assurances needed on Greek deal (by William Spain)
CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Eurogroup President Jean-Claude Juncker said Wednesday that while he welcomes an agreement on a loan package for Greece, "further technical work" is needed before a final deal is cut. Among his concerns are the closure of a $426 million fiscal gap in 2012 and the lack of "the required political assurances from the leaders of the Greek coalition parties on the implementation of the program." He will convene a conference call of finance ministers Wednesday to discuss the problems and then will hold the regular meeting on Monday.
