Merkel, Monti, Papademos see Greek deal Monday (by MarketWatch)
FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti and Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos expressed confidence that a deal on a second Greek bailout will be reached at a meeting of euro-zone finance ministers on Monday, Monti's office said, according to Dow Jones Newswires. The leaders held a teleconference on Friday after Merkel cancelled a trip to Rome to deal with the resignation of German President Christian Wulff. Monti's office said the leaders were "confident" a deal would be struck and that the "detailed" conversation was conducted with a "constructive spirit," according to the report.
