Iran halts crude oil sales to U.K., French cos (by Sam Mamudi)
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Iran's Ministry of Petroleum said Sunday the country has halted sales of crude oil to British and French companies. European Union states have agreed to stop importing Iranian crude from Jul. 1. A U.K. government official told the BBC Iran's move would have no impact on U.K. energy security. The news service quoted AFP as saying that in 2011 France bought 3% of its oil, or 58,000 barrels per day, from Iran. The U.K. imported even less, said the BBC.
