Euro-zone Mar. annual inflation pace slows to 2.6% (by William L. Watts)

FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Inflation in the 17-nation euro zone slowed to a 2.6% annual pace in March, down from 2.7% in February, the European Union statistical agency Eurostat reported Friday. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires had forecast a fall to 2.5%. The rate remains above the European Central Bank's target of near but just below 2%.
