Above average temperatures in the northern Plains, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. Also warmer in the SE. Near normal elsewhere except cooler over the Pac NW and New England.
This week has a large upper ridge over the divide shift slowly east to over the Ohio Valley by early next weekend. A number of storms cross the Pacific coast with showers, mountain snow and relatively cool conditions from the central California coast to Washington. The NW flow to the west of a stationary upper low over Quebec will keep New England cool thru Friday. Saturday the NE can expect a bit of a warm-up; NYC will be very mild Sunday/Monday next.
