IMF to lower forecast on China trade: report (by Robert Schroeder)
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The International Monetary Fund is poised to significantly lower its long-term forecast of China's current account surplus, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. The move will come in an April 17 update of the IMF's flagship publication, the World Economic Outlook, the Journal reported, citing several individuals informed of the debate. Lowering the forecast would strengthen China's defense against the U.S. argument that the Chinese currency is undervalued.
