Cool in the far west and New England; above to well above average elsewhere.
This morning a strong cold front extends from a low over Ontario through Lake Huron down to S. TX. Again today very gusty winds and some tornadoes can be expected near and along the front. The low will slowly move to the NE and the northern part of the cold front will move offshore the NE Atlantic seaboard but the southern section will stall over E TX and move only slowly thru the gulf coast States this week. Relatively mild this week with a strong W-E jetstream running along the Canadian border and disturbances developing along it. By the end of this week it looks like a more stable pattern will set up with a big ridge developing in the west and a downstream trough over the E.
