SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural-gas futures trimmed gains on Thursday after a weekly government report showed inventories within expectations. Natural gas for May delivery (ngk12) added 4 cents, or 1.6%, to $2.10 per million British thermal units. It traded at $2.14 per million Btus minutes before the data release. The Energy Information Administration reported an increase of 47 billion cubic feet in supplies of the product for the week ended April 20. Analysts polled by Platts had expected an increase between 43 bcf and 47 bcf.
