Not sure how significant Encana cutback will be in the overall scheme of things ??
The coal to gas switching is about done as I understand it. Most if not all Ng peakers are being run "full bore" on the cheap gas at spot pricing covering base load. But that won't last forever.
Takes about 2 days to bring an idled coal plant back up, but an Ng peaker is minutes.
I guess as long as the load remains relatively constant, as it should be this time of year, they will get away with it. As long as they can meet "peak load" with the gas plants, it's easy enough to throttle them back at night !!
Things may start to get "interesting" as we go forward.
